MECO successfully executed a comprehensive upgrade to CEGCO’s fire safety infrastructure, ensuring
enhanced protection and compliance with industry standards. The project scope included:

• Transformer Protection: Replacement of deluge systems for transformers in Units 3, 4, and 5.
• Fire Detection System Upgrade: Replacement of 10 local fire detection control panels and installation
of a new master addressable fire detection control panel with an advanced graphic workstation.
• Hydrant System Expansion: Installation of new fire hydrants to strengthen firefighting capabilities.
• Hydrogen Plant Fire Protection: Installation of an automatic deluge system to safeguard the hydrogen
generation plant.
• Advanced UV/IR Detection Systems: Deployment of UV/IR detectors across multiple critical areas,
including:
1. Hydrogen detection system for the hydrogen generation plant.
2. Fire detection for boilers’ burners in Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
3. Fire protection for steam turbines in Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
4. Gas safety monitoring at gas reducing stations in Units 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

MECO successfully delivered a comprehensive upgrade to CEGCO’s fire safety systems, ensuring enhanced
protection, reliability, and compliance with international fire safety standards. The project scope included:

• Fire Main Pipeline Upgrade: Replacement of the underground fire main pipe with a new above-ground
carbon steel fire pipeline for improved durability and accessibility.
• Advanced Fire Detection Systems:
   o Supply and installation of UV/IR flame sensors for boilers and boiler decks in Units 1-7.
   o Supply and replacement of the main fire detection control panel with a more advanced and
       reliable system.
   o Installation of smoke detection systems in critical areas, including:
        * Switch gas battery rooms
        * Relay rooms
        * Chemical laboratories
        * Unit 3 switchgear room
• Emergency Fire Call Points: Supply and installation of manual fire call points within the turbine hall
    across Units 1-7, ensuring rapid response capabilities.
• Comprehensive Facility Protection: Design, supply, and installation of an integrated fire detection
system for workshops, warehouses, and storage yards, enhancing safety measures across key
operational areas.
